Injury Report week 1. Looking good

It’s week 1 in less than 24 hours. I can’t explain how excited I am for this season. So many changes in the off season. Morse, Davis, Diggs all gone. We got a new crew of WR with, Samuel, Coleman, Hollins and MVS. Shakir is back and gunning to be the best slot receiver in the league this year and the TE room with Kincaid,Knox and Morris are going to be dominant. The O line is BIGGER,YOUNGER AND FASTER. The RB room with Cook( the quietest 1600 plus yard season RB last year) Johnson and the newcomer Davis are going to get lots of carries. With all the changes at so many positions as well as in the coaching staff we are labeled as UNDERDOGS. All I can say is nobody circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills. But let’s get to the injury report.

On the injured Reserve is Matt Milano. Milano worked like fiend to get back from his leg injury only to tear his bicep in practice and get put back on IR. Best case scenario for him would be a mid December return for a playoff run. In the interim Dorian Williams looks to be the Starting LB with Bernard. Williams in the preseason seems to be playing well and man can he fly from sideline to sideline. He has a good nose for the ball so I think we should be ok. You can’t really replace a probowl player like Milano but we should be okay.

The good news is we are getting healthy at the right time and basically should have all our starters ready to play Sunday. Samuels toe injury appears to be resolved and he practiced all week and will be ready. Cole Bishop returned to practice from his shoulder blade injury and was a full go all week and will be ready. Quinton Morris shoulder injury is better and he was a full go this week and is ready. Mitch Trubitsky (probable MCL strain) returned to full practice Friday and is likely going to play but if not ready Mike White has a couple weeks in the system and should be ready. I have not heard they activated him from the practice squad so it’s likely Trubitsky is ready.

The problem area is with Defensive End. Javon Solomon apparently injured his oblique muscle this week and is liste as OUT. This injury may take sever weeks to heal so be prepared for practice squad elevation of a DE. This is especially likely since Dawuane Smoot injured his toe late this week. This is likely a turf toe injury and since it happened late in the week he won’t have time to recover before the game. Today it was reported that he is listed as OUT for tomorrow. He should be able to play in 1-2 weeks. Transaction wire stated DE Kameron Cline was elevated from practice squad due to these injuries.

So in conclusion the bills are pretty much healthy here at the beginning of the season. It should be a great home opener and I can’t wait to be in the stadium again with the rest of the Mafia. Let me know if there’s a topic you would like me to discuss in the future and I’ll be happy to do so. Cheer loud and proud and as always GO BILLS!
