Week 2: squish the fish injury report

It’s a short week with little time to recover from any injury sustained in week 1. Week one was a stressful affair. The Bills defense was shaky in the first half especially after Taron Johnson left the game with a forearm injury. Watching the play in person it didn’t look like much initially but on video review Taron took a direct hit on his forearm. He was taken off the field and his arm was hanging down and he was holding it maybe supporting the arm/wrist. So far the Bills have not stated anything other than it’s a forearm injury but the fact that Coach McDermott suggested he could possibly be placed on IR there is much more concern. With this statement it makes me think he may have a fracture in one of the forearm bones or a significant tear of the interosseus ligament which holds the 2 bones of the forearm together. I suspect that they are figuring out if he is going to need surgery or if he will be able to return with some sort of brace or cast. In the meantime he has not practiced and is out for the game Tomorrow.

Week 1 MVP candidate and QB1 leaping linebackers in a single bound Josh Allen landed awkwardly as he scored his second rushing TD. He seemed to injure his left wrist/hand area. He Got taped up and finished the game. He was given full clearance to practice the past 2 days but was wearing a glove on his left hand(non throwing hand). He took snaps from under center and in shotgun and seemed to have no problems. This could have been much more serious but seems to be just a soft tissue injury He will be fine this week but may have some soreness for a week or two. I suspect coach McDermott had a few things to say to Josh about any more leaping.

Javon Solomon continues to be limited in practice with an oblique injury. He is not likely to play this week even if recovered. I suspect that he will be inactive but probably ready for the next game on Monday night.

Duwaune Smoot has remained out of practice and has been labeled out for the game with his Turf toe injury.

The rest of the team is healthy and ready to go. Of note Miami has serious problems with their running backs. Misters is listed as out and Achane hasn’t practiced and is listed as questionable. I do suspect he will play but maybe not as much or as well. Miami’s defense is a little dinged up but I suspect both Phillips and Ramsey will be playing.

That’s about all the important things for this week. The game is a night so we shouldn’t expect any heat related illnesses this year. It should be a good game with a Bills win 31-17 over the fish.
